"I look and dream for a future that seems never to come, yet my faith tells me I will live in my desired future. Most often I go through the day with a lot of wishful thinking, thinking that I can see smiles on the faces of everybody I see, wishing that every child is in school and gets quality education, that everybody eats what he wants and when he wants it and not what he gets only when available, I wish that everyone has a home, I wish!, I wish!! I wish!!! I wish!!!!, and can’t stop wishing. Most often wishing for these things and never seeing it makes me want to stop dreaming for a better tomorrow for fear of disappointing myself, but faith which has been the antidote to the fear that wants me run away from my dreams urges me on, for I know 'Hope is the essential ingredient to make it through life. It is the anchor of the soul' (Barbara Johnson). It is this hope that drives me to do all the things I do. This one wish to put smiles on the faces of everyone and make every single life count is what gives me strength. This one wish is the blood fuel that runs through me, and so far as I stay and pursue my dreams, this fuel never runs out."

Mission

Our mission is to create a platform to help young girls build up their confidence, give them equal opportunities, provide them with companionship, a listening ear, and unwavering encouragement. 

Our Goal is to inspire and empower young girls with resources that will allow them act with integrity and take on leadership roles.

Our vision is to ensure societal values in every young girl by giving them the need skills that will make them productive and financially independent.

Our philosophy is that by empowering and inspiring young girls to believe in themselves and accept challenges, they will grow up knowing their rights and worth in the society.

Description

Solutions for Life Initiative is dedicated to helping young women become agents of change in our generation. SFLIG is a youth focused, community based NGO geared towards informal transmission of knowledge, fostering social capital, and providing psychosocial support for young girls. We help girls to raise their self-esteem, while seeking social justice and developing their role in building a sustainable and productive future for the nation. 

Objectives

To see a morally upright youth develop in Ghana.

To give young girls the courage to express themselves publicly.

To help every young girl succeed at the highest levels of education.

To ensure the life of every girl is valued in nation building.

To help them know and understand their civic rights and responsibility.
