When You Eat, They Eat Christmas Picnic for the Needy 2012

As part of our quest to put smiles on every child’s face during Christmas, SFLIG initiated a feeding program that seeks to bring together the destitute in society from the Orphanage homes in Kumasi and its environs as well as children from the street for picnic dubbed, “When You Eat They Eat” Christmas Picnic for the needy. Have you thought of what the orphan and the needy child on the street will do on Boxing day, when we are wrapping and unwrapping presents, as well as making merry with all kinds of nutritious food and delicacies? Think of them and support SFLIG with your kind donation to feed 1000 destitute kids from all the orphanage homes in Kumasi and its environs. Privileged children and families are encouraged to show love by bringing their home cooked Christmas delicacies to share with the destitute whose lives depend on it.

This event just doesn't provide food to those needy children but also raise the awareness about hunger and their plight when it comes to eating well prepared and nutritious food. It also gives these children the opportunity to make merry just like any other child during Christmas by making available many outdoor games like bounce castle, trampoline, the limbo, etc.

We are looking up to you my great family, let us come together and put a smile on a child face this Christmas and also give the opportunity to a child who couldn't get a well balanced nutritious meal through out the year to get one on Boxing Day when everyone is making merry. You can support us with food, drinks, biscuits, toffees, water, chairs, canopies, tables, music, outdoor games transportation, printing flyers and banners, etc.

Emma Perinetti on Volunteering for SFLIG

SFLIG Volunteer talks about her time in Ghana:

"My time in Ghana was unforgettable. Truly. The minute I was on the plane back to France, I was trying to figure out when I could go back. Mainly, this is thanks to the wonderful, incredible, 45 children I feel in love with at the orphanage I went to in the afternoons. That and the irreplaceable Sally and Bernard, in charge of the NGO I was assigned to. I made lifelong friends and future project partners..."

Back to School Project

Stationery is one major challenges that most vulnerable kids especially orphans face in their studies. Most of such children go to school without the need exercise books nor text book not to mention other stationery like pen, pencils, mathematical sets etc.

Is in view of this that SFLIG as our way of solving Life issues have developed this program to help provide stationery to such school children every academic year.

Schools are on break now and by the close of the month we will be starting another ac
ademic year. Most children at Orphanages and deprived homes are going to struggle with school fees as well as stationery and is only YOU and ME who can help to get these children to school.

Last academic term we were able to provide 1000 exercise books to four orphanages and one rehabilitation center as well as about 500 reading and text books.

As Oliver Twist we have come back to you our passionate supporters to help us to produce 5000 exercise books and other stationery to give out this academic year. We want to donate to all the orphanages in Kumasi and its environs as well as to other deprive children and families.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
As little as GHC1.00 can buy the following:
Exercise Book = GHc 0.50
Pen = GHc 0.20
Pencil = GHc 0.10

Total = GHc 1.00
Any additional contribution can buy a ruler or mathematical set, and even pay school fees.

Please you can contact us to give your donation. You may feel that calling us to pick up GHc1.00 is not worth it but to us your GHC1.00 is a big gold mine and we will come over no matter where you are to pick it.
